About the Scottish Philosophy Website
The Scottish Philosophy Website is a joint initiative of Edinburgh University Press and the Institute for the Study of Scottish Philosophy at the University of Sioux Falls, South Dakota.
It has three main aims:
- to support an interesting, informative and developing website devoted to all aspects of the Scottish philosophical tradition
- to provide a web-based platform for scholars and societies to reach a global readership,
- to enable individuals to purchase the Journal of Scottish Philosophy at a heavily discounted price, as well as discounts on other relevant purchases.
The Scottish Philosophy Website's role is entirely that of a facilitator. It does not organize its own conferences or produce its own publications and it freely advertizes the activities and publications of anyone and everyone engaged in the study of the Scottish Philosophical tradition and its history.
To become a member of the Institute for the Study of Scottish Philosophy, please visit the membership page.
Membership is free, but brings the opportunity of a heavily discounted individual subscription to the Journal of Scottish Philosophy as well as other special offers available only to members.
The ISSP will not compete with any other group or society devoted to promoting any aspect of the Scottish Philosophical tradition. Its sole purposeĀ is to serve their interests.
